Shop Policies

Ordering and Payment

  • This is a pre-order shop. An item being "in stock" means I have the capacity to make it for you within the typical timeline of 4-6 weeks, depending on order size and on other existing commitments.

  • At any time, I do have some items that are physically ready as part of my routine production cycle. If your entire order is physically in stock, it will be shipped within a few days. If you need your order on this timeline, please email me directly at orna.pottery@gmail.com to find out what's available. Please reserve such inquiries only for genuine quick-order needs. Otherwise, please enjoy the convenience and complete selection available on the pre-order shop interface.

  • If you would like to order a piece outside of the options available online, or to add a customization such as an additional engraving, please email me directly.

  • Listed prices do not include tax or shipping.

  • If you live around Seattle or are planning to visit, you can opt for free pickup from Pike Place Market during checkout. I will contact you to arrange pickup once your order is ready. Please note that I'm not at the market every day.

  • If you require shipping, then during order placement you pay only for the cost of the pieces (plus sales tax if applicable). Shipping costs are calculated once the order is ready, based on the package's final weight and size. This is done in order to minimize your shipping costs.

  • For local-pickup orders or orders shipped within Washington State, sales tax must be collected. The site will collect the Seattle sales tax rate. If your order is shipped to a Washington location with a different tax rate, I will adjust the difference when calculating shipping costs.

  • When your order is ready to ship, I will email you a Square invoice for the shipping costs. The email will be from ORNA'S POTTERY (all caps), saying "You received a new invoice" with the invoice number in parentheses. Apologies, at present Square does not allow modification to make the message subject more informative. Some spam filters misidentify this Square email, so I follow up with customers a few days later in case the invoice was not paid.

Shipping

  • I ship the order after the shipping costs are paid.

  • I currently ship to the United States and Canada only.

  • For each shipment I choose the most cost-effective option between USPS and UPS. Ground shipping is standard (typically 3-7 days from Seattle to most US locations).

  • If you want an expedited shipping option, please let me know in the notes when placing your order.

  • All packages are insured. I take great care to wrap my items securely.

  • When possible, I use environmentally sustainable packaging materials that can be reused, recycled or composted.

  • If an item is damaged during shipping, please do not ship it back to me, nor discard it right away. Please take photos of the item and the packaging, and let me know as soon as possible via email (orna.pottery@gmail.com) with the photos attached. I will arrange for a replacement or refund.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • Cancellations are accepted within one calendar week of your order, as long as the order hasn't shipped already. Please email me at orna.pottery@gmail.com as soon as possible to request a cancellation and refund.

    • Exception: No cancellations for specially customized orders outside of the normal styles I sell at the market (for example, customized shapes, engravings, text, or unique colors).

  • Please note that all items are uniquely handcrafted and thus may vary slightly. Minor variations are not sufficient cause for refund requests.

  • In the extremely rare case of damage during shipping, generally you will be eligible for a refund or replacement. See details above.

  • Orna's Pottery is not responsible for damage to items during use.

Privacy

  • All personal information collected, including name, email, address, and phone number, will be held confidential and not shared with any other party. This information is collected exclusively to communicate with you directly about your order, and to produce and ship my products.

  • If you consent to be added to my email list, I may contact you with Orna's Pottery news and promotions, but will never share your data with others.

  • The website provider may collect a limited amount of non-personal information including cookies, in order to improve site performance. This includes measuring and collecting session information, page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, IP Addresses, and methods used to browse away from the page.
