2009 Holiday Schedule

Filed under: Events — December 9, 2009 @ 10:43 pm

Hi all,

Long time no write… there were technical issues, but mostly my secretary was just too lazy. Anyway, a new winter holiday season is upon us, starting with two bazaars:

1. Thursday, December 10, 2009, 3-7 PM. Thornton Creek Elementary Annual Winter Bazaar - This will be my sixth year straight at the bazaar! My second son Guy is graduating this year so it might be my last, at least for a while. Make a difference while buying your holiday gifts: 20% of proceeds go directly to support school activities. There are also kid-made crafts (both Guy and his older brother Daniel have made some beautiful pottery pieces and will be displaying them there).

Dinner and refreshments will be served by parent volunteers. Location: 7711 43rd Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115. I will have a few Hanuka Menoras on hand - the holiday starts the following evening!

2. Friday, December 11, 2009, 5-8:30 PM. Cooperative Children’s Center’s Second Annual Winter Bazaar - our third and youngest son goes to this parent-run nonprofit cooperative childcare located at a church building in the University District. Here, too, 20% of proceeds go directly to support the Center. Refreshments will be served by parent volunteers. Location: 4759 15th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98105 (SW corner of 15th Ave and 50th St., about 100 yards north of where it is marked on the online map).

Last year, Pike Place Market’s holiday season was pretty much snowed out. In the hope that history does not repeat itself, here is my planned Pike Place Market holiday schedule:

  • - Sunday, Dec. 13;
  • - Every day from Thursday Dec. 17th through Monday Dec. 21st.
  • - I might be there on Wednesday the 23rd and/or Christmas Eve - email me if those are the only days that work for you.

Look for me at the craft area on the DeSimone Bridge, near the Stewart Street entrance.

Happy Holidays, Orna
