Orna’s Pottery November Shows starting this Sunday!
Hi,
I hope all of you are doing fine.
Next week I complete my first month at Pike Place Market. It’s been an adventure! It is fascinating to get to know the community of farmers, artisans and other Market workers, and to meet visitors from around the world.
My regular days there are Sunday (unless I have another show) and Thursday. The market will be closed on Thanksgiving day. Market hours are 10 to 5 weekdays, 11 to 5 Sundays.
After some trials and errors, I settled for the north end of the market - around Stewart Street. If I’m lucky I get a stall across from the flower stands (just south of Stewart). Otherwise, farther north or somewhere around the Desimone bridge (the roundabout with windows overlooking Puget Sound) - or outside just north of the covered market (between Stewart and Virginia).
This Sunday (Nov. 13), however, I have a table at Beth Am Synagogue’s KlezFest - a festival inspired by Hanukkah (which is still a month and a half away), but open to the general public. I’ve been there as a visitor twice in the past, and it’s very family-friendly. The festival is at University Prep right next to the ,synagogue, on 2632 NE 80th St. Times: 12 noon to 5 PM. There is an admission price. Here’s a direct link to the event: http://www.templebetham.org/KlezFest/KlezFest.htm
My table will have both general art and Judaica, including of course Hanukkah Menoras.
Next Weekend, Thursday to Saturday (Nov. 17-19), I participate in another round of “Discovered and Undiscovered Potters” in Woodinville. In last month’s show at Issaquah, I was impressed by the amazingly wide range and high quality of ceramic art - over 80 Northwest potters had their work there. If you’re a pottery fan, don’t miss it. I myself will be there Saturday morning and again towards closing time.
Times: Thu-Fri (Nov. 17-18) 9AM - 9PM, Sat (Nov. 19) 9AM - 7PM
Place: Hollywood Schoolhouse, 14810 NE 145th St., Woodinville. Admission is free.

All the best, have a happy Thanksgiving,
Orna
