New Site Under Construction!

Hi all,

I am working on a new site with a web developer. Meanwhile, there will be no updates. I still do the Market 2-3 days a week, usually Thursday-Friday or Sunday and one of Thu/Fri.

Please contact me at ornaeo@yahoo.com or orna@orna-pottery.com with any questions.

Thanks, Orna

2009 Holiday Schedule

Hi all,

Long time no write… there were technical issues, but mostly my secretary was just too lazy. Anyway, a new winter holiday season is upon us, starting with two bazaars:

1. Thursday, December 10, 2009, 3-7 PM. Thornton Creek Elementary Annual Winter Bazaar - This will be my sixth year straight at the bazaar! My second son Guy is graduating this year so it might be my last, at least for a while. Make a difference while buying your holiday gifts: 20% of proceeds go directly to support school activities. There are also kid-made crafts (both Guy and his older brother Daniel have made some beautiful pottery pieces and will be displaying them there).

Dinner and refreshments will be served by parent volunteers. Location: 7711 43rd Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115. I will have a few Hanuka Menoras on hand – the holiday starts the following evening!

2. Friday, December 11, 2009, 5-8:30 PM. Cooperative Children’s Center’s Second Annual Winter Bazaar – our third and youngest son goes to this parent-run nonprofit cooperative childcare located at a church building in the University District. Here, too, 20% of proceeds go directly to support the Center. Refreshments will be served by parent volunteers. Location: 4759 15th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98105 (SW corner of 15th Ave and 50th St., about 100 yards north of where it is marked on the online map).

Last year, Pike Place Market‘s holiday season was pretty much snowed out. In the hope that history does not repeat itself, here is my planned Pike Place Market holiday schedule:

  • - Sunday, Dec. 13;
  • - Every day from Thursday Dec. 17th through Monday Dec. 21st.
  • - I might be there on Wednesday the 23rd and/or Christmas Eve – email me if those are the only days that work for you.

Look for me at the craft area on the DeSimone Bridge, near the Stewart Street entrance.

Happy Holidays, Orna

Holiday Events – Final Version

Hi all,

First, two holiday events this week:

1. Thursday, December 11, 3-7 PM. Thornton Creek Elementary Annual Winter Bazaar - This will be my fifth year straight at the bazaar! My eldest son just graduated from this wonderful school, and my second son is in fourth grade there. Make a difference while buying your holiday gifts: 20% of proceeds go directly to support school activities. Dinner and refreshments will be served by parent volunteers. Location: 7711 43rd Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115.

2. Friday, December 12, 5-8:30. Cooperative Children’s Center’s First Annual Winter Bazaar – our third and youngest son goes to this parent-run cooperative childcare located at a church building in the University District.

My Pike Place Market schedule until Christmas: this Sunday, Dec. 14 (weather permitting – in the event of a snow storm I might cancel), and then every day from Thursday the 18th through Christmas Eve, Wednesday December 24th.

I also have four Hanukkah Menoras on display, and other Judaica artifacts such as Kiddush cups and Mezuzas.

Looking forward to see you, Orna

Looking Ahead to the Holidays – 1

Another schedule update, and a first glimpse of the holidays.

This weekend I’ll be at the Market Friday-Saturday, November 14-15.
Next week: Thursday-Friday, November 20-21.
Thanksgiving week: Friday-Saturday, November 28-29.

My December Market schedule after Thanksgiving is still not finalized – but will almost surely include Sundays, Dec. 7 and 14.

Meanwhile, in early December I participate in three holiday events around town:

1. Thursday, December 4, 5-8 PM. Holiday Sale at the Pottery School - I am a member of this studio, right in the Pioneer Square historical district. On that evening, all area galleries open late for the monthly First Thursday Art Walk. Location: Basement of the Occidental Park Building, 214 1st Avenue S, Seattle, WA 98104. Entrance from First Avenue.

Friday, December 12, 5-8 PM (time not final). Cooperative Children’s Center’s First Annual Winter Bazaar – our third and youngest son goes to this parent-run cooperative childcare located at a church building in the University District.

As you can see, there is a variety of conveniently located options to meet me this holiday season. Looking forward to see you!

PS: I should also have some new Hanukkah lamps ready by then.

Late October to Mid-November 2008 Schedule

Hi all,

Long time no hear…

My fall schedule shifts mostly to the later part of the week.

From October 23 through November 7, I will do Thursdays-Fridays, and also Saturdays October 25 and November 8.
The following two weeks will be Sunday and Fridays (9th and 14; 16th and 21st).

Holiday schedule will come at the next post.

May Schedule: back to Sunday-Monday

Hi all,

After Passover I have reverted to Sundays-Mondays at the market.

However, on Saturday and Sunday, May 31-June 1, I will participate at the Pike Place Market Street Festival. My stall will be in the usual area at the Market (near the Stewart Street entrance) – but with double size. Additionally, the market will be full of festival activities (see link for details).

Hope to see you there… more later

Passover Items at the Market

Hi all,

For the upcoming Passover holiday I will present at my Pike Place Market booth items ranging from Kiddush cups to Seder plates. Additionally I will have my regular repertoire as well.

I will be at the Market this Friday (April 11), Sunday (April 13) and Monday (April 14). The Sunday after that is the holiday itself and I won’t be at the Market.

If you’d like to see Passover items and these dates don’t suit you, write me to orna at orna-pottery dot com.

Happy holiday, Orna

New Year – New Schedule

Hi all,

I hope you had a relaxing winter vacation.

Starting January 14, I will have three days a week at the Market: Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

On Tuesdays my pottery will be represented by a Market colleague, but I will be there at the beginning and end of each day.

Market hours during winter are approximately 10:30-4 weekdays, 10-5 Saturdays.

Holiday Schedule!

Hi all,

On Thursday, December 13, my pottery and I will be at the Thornton Creek Elementary School winter bazaar. This is my older sons’ school, and it’s the fourth year I’ll be there. The atmosphere is great! Prices are the same as in the Market, but 20% of proceeds go to the school. There will also be some discounted items which I usually do not display.

The event is open to the public from 3 to 7 pm. The street address is 7711 43th Ave. NE (between the Wedgwood and Viewridge neighborhoods in northeast Seattle).

Following that and until Christmas, I plan to have an intensive Pike Place Market schedule. See me there Friday, Dec. 14; Sunday, Dec. 16; and Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 20-23.
Market hours are 10-5, except Sunday, 11-5.
I will also be at the Market on Sunday Dec. 30.

Happy Holidays,

Orna
